Need a Cheap, Easy Meal?
This Hamburger and Veggie soup cost about $17 and feeds my family of 6 twice.
You can easily make a smaller pot or freeze for later.
Now normally in the post this is where you read 3-5 paragraphs of someone’s life story leading up to the soup.
Well, not from this Moma. If you’re needing a quick and easy recipe, which is my favorite kind of recipe, then you don’t need to waste your time hearing about whatever nonsense I’ve got myself into these days.
So here you go, Moma Thrift’s Cheap & Easy Hamburger and Veggie Soup (That My Kids Love).
Moma Thrifts Hamburger & Veggie Soup
- 2lbs Hamburger Meat
- 1 Medium Yellow Onion
- 2 (32oz) Boxes Vegetable Broth
- 2 (32oz) Boxes Beef Broth
- 2 Bags (28oz) Frozen Mixed Vegetables (I used PictSweet from Walmart)
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
Brown hamburger meat and onions together then drain. Add the rest of the ingredients bring to boil and then simmer for about 20-30 mins.
I’m going to be honest. I do not do recipes. I wing most everything. I wrote 1tsp on the seasonings but, I usually shake them in until I like how taste. And I get compliments on this soup from my kiddos each time. Sometimes I add cabbage and/or stewed tomatoes. You can make this in a crockpot as well just brown meat first.
Do you have a Hamburger & Veggie soup recipe? AKA Poor Mans Soup?
I’d love to hear how you make yours.
